During 2009 I had repeated sinus infections and fluid on my ears. I was on antibotics for 14 days and on day 21-30 I had another infection and/or fluid once again on my ears. I was referred to an ENT by my doctor. He ordered a CT scan which showed a deviated spectum, two retention cyst and a Haller cell or cyst. The ENT suggested surgery which I underwent a month later. He told me he was going to inset the tubes into my ears, clean out my sinuses, remove all cysts and polyps and correct my deviated spectum. The day of surgery he told me the same thing which my husband and mother heard him say. I was sent home within a few hours after surgery. I had very very little nose bleeds, only slight pain which felt more like pressure in my face and no bruising or swelling. 3 months later I was having the exact same pain/pressure in the T-zone of my face, through my upper teeth, my eyes and hair even hurt. This has been going on off/on since the surgery. I had a repeat CT scan 3 months after surgery and it showed the same cysts and polps but the spectum had been corrected somewhat but not completely.
I obtained a copy of the history/physical prior to surgery and no mention of the cyst or polyps in fact he stated in that report that no cyst or polyps were present. The same thing was mentione din the operation report. Therefore, none of these were removed.
I feel this doctor really screwed me up by not doing what he was suppose to do. I have had nothing but pain since surgery. Missed more work this past yr than I have in the 6 yrs I have been with my employer. Could this be the cause of my headache/face pain? I have been to the eye doctor and dentist and both gave me a clean bill of health. Every one is telling me I need to hire an attorney and sue this doctor for what he didn’t do. Should I?????

In some cases, sinus infections and the act of “cleaning them out” can leave a bit of scarring which results in a continuation of symptoms along with irritation and inflammation. Personally, I’d get a second opinion as well as some diagnostic testing to see what’s going on. Good luck – I hope you’re able to get some relief from the symptoms.
